Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive method used to visually evaluate internal organs, obtain tissue biopsies and fluid samples, and retrieve foreign objects. Using specialized fiber-optic equipment, we are able to project an image from inside your pet onto a television screen. Instruments, including retrieval graspers and biopsy forceps, are fed through a channel in the scope and are then guided to an area of abnormal tissue for biopsy or a foreign object for retrieval. In most instances, no incisions are required and no pain is experienced following the procedure.
